Here I welded a 5mm plate to both sides of the rear for strength  and for piece of mind really,

More rust replaced,

Now to do the same on the passanger side.

Here I decided to weld a plate to strengthen the inner side of the frame as I thought the frame was a bit weak here.

I cleaned it up and spray galvanized what I had welded in.

Here are a few shoots of the frame back from sandblasting and cold zinc galvanizing.

More work here to be tackled in time to come.

We lifted the frame onto a frends trailer to breing it to the blasters.

Here the frame is in the blasting booth (bad phone pic)

Here all the parts are back from the blasters all galvanized,

Chassis repair

Here is a before and after,

Here is mount No.1 under repair,

And here it is repaired, just to drill out the hole.

This is the only frame rot I found underneath the frame.

Now to start at the rear end.

Not looking so good.

looking a bit better,

Underneath frame repair done.

Next job are the rotten sombreros.

All the rust has been cut out here.

I reckon I'll brace this area a bit,it looks a bit factory structurally weak.

here all the rust has been cut out ready for repair.

Follow along as I attempt a restoration on my Stingray.

I origionally bought this car to have for weekend driving and so on, I had in mind to tidy up the overall basic apperance starting with the interior then wheels etc; but once I started to remove certan parts I soon realised that this is going to need a little more than a tidy up,

Of course this being a blog page the most recent work I have done will be displayed first.
(a bit like reading a book from back to front really)

To the right there ia a Restoration Archive so you can select older posts from start to finish.
