No.2 & 3 body mount repair.
New steel tacked into place, |
Here I spotted a rusty patch just to thr left of the mount, |
and here is a piece welded in after cutting out rust, |
The same was done to the drivers side, |
After cleaning and wipe down I spray galvanized for added rust proofing. |
New plate in body mount 2 fitted. |
I made up a repair piece for body mount 2, |
It fit nice and snug when test fitting, |
Galvanized this also, |
Next job was to weld in a new plate where I cut out the rotten steel, |
Some welding may not look great as I was low on gas, |
Drivers No.3 mount fitted, |
And now welded into place, |
Cleaned and sprayed, |
Follow along as I attempt a restoration on my Stingray.
I origionally bought this car to have for weekend driving and so on, I had in mind to tidy up the overall basic apperance starting with the interior then wheels etc; but once I started to remove certan parts I soon realised that this is going to need a little more than a tidy up,
Of course this being a blog page the most recent work I have done will be displayed first.
(a bit like reading a book from back to front really)
To the right there ia a Restoration Archive so you can select older posts from start to finish.
